Free exercises to flatten stomach – are they enough?

People who want to flatten their stomach often think that doing Basic exercises like sit up or using one of the many “ab” devices sold on TV will help. This is simply not true at all. While flattening your stomach is easier than you may think, you just have to do what works. And the only things that will effectively flatten your stomach is a combination of a healthy diet, cardio and strength training.

The only way to get a flat, defined stomach is to lose the layer of fat that coves it. The only way to get rid of this fat is by losing weight all over your body. It is actually impossible to lose weight only in one particular area like the stomach.

The most important thing you can de to lose fat is eat healthy. Avoid unhealthy fats and bad carbs such as sugars. The key is to lower your calorie intake and eat smaller portions. Eating several small meals a day is often best for weight loss.

Next you should do some cardiovascular exercises. This can be any type of moderate exercise like swimming, cycling or even dancing. Just pick any activity you like.

Strengthening your abs muscles will also help tone them, so there is a place for ab exercises. Still, doing only ab work is not very effective. You will have to develop your whole body for best results. This will not only make your muscles bigger and stronger, it will also make your body burn more fat, even when you are resting.
